A portrait of two people enjoying a picnic is the theme of this transparent watercolour. The use of tea dyeing adds a warm undertone to the otherwise cool colours and unusual lighting of the subjects. The faces are totally realistic while the remainder of the bodies and background fade to entice the viewer to interpret for themselves the complete scene.
