This transparent watercolour evokes peace and tranquillity. Although the colours are complementary which usually creates unrest, the simplicity of the subject puts one at peace. The tree curves gracefully over the open book and the flowers aid in creating a gentle, quiet mood. Realistically rendered, the subjects are actually abstracted to continue an abstract idea.
