Maiden is part of a series of Earth Mother paintings. This one is inspired by the beauty of the night and a young Mother Earth opening her senses as a flower opens its petals. She is dewy, fresh and happy. Done on heavy 300lb. Arches watercolour paper, the background is a fluid wash with watercolour and acrylic foliage and a touch of metallic gold on the figure and leaves. The image is dripping with a fertility and ripeness of springtime.
